the car is at the "body shop" as we speak. it took 3 weeks for the quarter panel to come in..........or should i say the quarter of a car they sent. it's white too so it has a little james in it if you will.

good news is...........the frame was not bent at all. bad news is.........it won't be done before this saturday. so i will be racing street class..........with either the excursion, if i can talk jodie into letting me beat on it, or the olds. my guess is it will be the olds.

and....................i WILL have my car at the next RSD. I'm gunning for that andr5.8+ guy!!!!!!!!

Great news Jim. :D
Better get some seat time in the "replacement" vehicle or else your R/T's are going to be all messed up, as that vehicle is not going to react as quickly to your input.

Good to hear it is coming together. Jim is a born bracket racer!!! He can cut a light with a big wheel!!!!

I am not kidding either . A bad light for him is a .030!!!

I wasn't intending to diss on him, I am certain he knows what I am talking about here; when you get "dialed in" to a certain car and it's characteristics, getting into a different car can mess up your "fine timing" and result in redlights or late lights. Usually, when you go from a faster car to a slower one, your fine timing is off and you might go higher on R/T until you get a "feel" for the other vehicle and how it reacts. The firmness of the suspension, the tires, the power under the hood, the adjustment of the clutch or the firmness of the converter, all these things come into play when you change cars. The skilled driver adjusts very quickly. All I was trying to say was if Jim's "in the points" he does not want to risk losing ground in the standings driving a different car and not being "ready" for the difference, especially if he has been driving the same car week after week, which I believe he has.
Example- In my Cobra, I was so dialed into that car I could cut near perfect lights every time. When I got the Mach, it was so different, the first couple times out I was up in the .600's. I realized that the torque of the 347 made the Cobra react MUCH quicker than the Mach and that I had to adjust, or "leave earlier" off the tree when driving the Mach1. And soon the lights came along for the ride. I suspect the first couple times I race the Cobra again, I'll probably jump the light because I am used to the Mach.

Just offering what I think is sound and solid advice to a friend. It's all good man... :thumbs_up

i'm sad neither one of my replacements won't go at least 14.50. that means i have to run street class. it should still be a blast, haven't run street for a couple years now. i am very worried about R/T too greg becuse i only have 2 passes to figure it out before 1st round.

Is that a diesel excursion or just a gas guzzler? hehe

i ended up grabbing my stang from the body man since he didn't start on it yet. lost in the 1st round. dialed 12.08 and ran a 12.05 on the brakes. the weather tricked me a little i think.

the excursion is gas and gets 14 hwy, 10 city, and 12.5 pulling my car.
