well we put some dye in it and ran it hard. its comming out of the vent. it also lookred like maybe a little out the servo cover on the pass side. the fluid was at the top even after all the fluid that came out. i suspect that there was to much fluid in it. we put this tranny together in winter and i think now that the temp is warmer the fluid is higher. i took out 1/2 quart fluid and no leaks on the ground today. i called T.S.I and asked them if the cover leaks and he thought that it was rare if it did, but if it was to clean it off and put silicone on it? (not sure i like that idea) he saif=d if i took the cover off that i would drop a pin and loose 2nd gear. the o ring is inside there i guess and its not easy to replace. (not an expert here so im not sure what he meant buy that. but good news anyway. im just perinoid about the tranny i guess and every little problem seems huge to me. i also know that a car like mine will have its problems faster than most. BTW i have spent nothing on repairs for a few months whats up with that :thumbs_up
i better drive it harder :shifter:

If you take that cover off and find out that o ring is cracked or snapped I would not recommend silicone. It will leak worse than if you left the bad o ring in  . Those servos are under high pressure and it blows the silicone out easy. I know first hand. The o ring is actually on the cover. Cheap too, but it sounds like the vent is spraying the cover. Hope it holds up for yeah, C4's rock! I loved my TCI streetfighter, but I overheated it @ GLD. :thud:

the band actuator strut would fall out if you removed the servo piston...but you can pull that cover w/o taking the servo piston out of the bore...idk why they would tell you that
if you want to be absolutely sure the strut doesn't fall out, tighten the corresponding band adjuster...it will put more pressure on the strut/servo...then back it off to the original location
even if the strut did happen to fall off, you can drop the pan, possibly reach around the vb and put it back on the servo/band w/o removing the vb
