I gotta share with everyone, I love this puppy SO much. Just got her at the Wisconsin Humane Society tonight. Saw her yesterday, and just didn't know if it was the right time. They put it very well, that if it wasn't something I was 100% in love in, it's best not to do it. I liked her and everything, but that sudden thought of OMG. So i went home, and after about an hour of thinking, I just couldn't see my life without her. So today went back and picked her up. She is VERY loving. very young at 13 weeks, but i've already got her responding to her name of "Niya" (mission impossible 2) and she comes when called, and then even sits when told. So hopefully everything else goes well. Right now she's with my girlfriend at the house, and I had to come back to work. I GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE! I can't see myself leaving her side. There was another family there looking at her, and when I came up to the window, she turned and came running at me when I said "Niya". Stake through the heart, had to. Sorry, I kinda suck with a camera with her moving around. She's not too keen with the leash right now.
But we are letting her run around the house/yard with it on to get used to it. So excited I forgot... She's an Alaskan/Siberian Husky mix

Talk about a sign. I was thinking of becoming actively involved with the Humane Society in Green Bay a few months ago. I printed some info from their website. But, I didn't do anything about it so I threw away the info last week.

I think I need to reconsider my first impulse, which was to be a volunteer and help anyway I can. I just pulled the info out of my waste basket.

That is a really cute dog and it sounds like you have a new best friend for many years to come. Congrats.

Yeah, it was nice when we first went there and the volunteers had just came back from walking her. they let us know about her timidness with the leash. I took her out at 11pm last night, 3am, and 7am this morning. She's pretty good. last night wasn't too good with the rain, so she still piddled inside on the bathroom tile. Not ready to crate train her, so the bathroom is pretty big to run around in.

If I didn't work 12-13 hrs/day, I'd definitely be volunteering. It's awesome to see the little kids running around the inside of the building looking at all the puppies.

Like I said, i went with my girlfriend's sister and brother-in-law, because he wanted a puppy. There was a shepard/chow mix that he wanted So badly. but when we got back to pick up Niya, the chow mix was just being taken. I feel ALOT better about getting Niya compared to getting the black/grey w/ blue eyed Husky from "Puppy World". Not saying it's a bad place, just feel that this is doing something better.

I walked her around the block this morning, and there was another dog outside. Niya just looked at her and barked a little bit but kept walking. Looked at the other dog, but never went full blast towards her. All last night I was freaking out worying if the puppy as alright, if she needed anything, etc... I've been told I shouldn't have a baby in my future with how much I worried about her. I got sick my stomach was churning so badly.

I got my dog from the Milwaukee Humane society also! I remember the first night I brought him home I was scared that I made a mistake and wouldnt be able to take care of him the way he needed to be. Now I couldnt see him not in my life he is for sure my best buddy! We go everywhere together he comes to work with me everyday also! Nice find, that dog looks alot like the one I originally went to look at when I found my dog!
