View Full Version : What I did on my winter vacation

Compared to what others of you have done over the winter – my changes are mild. But you MMA crazies have infected me once again to the point that I said ‘Hey what’s a factory warranty really good for’, and proceeded to void my power train warranty with a Saleen Supercharger. Then to make matters worse, I thought it would be fun to scare the hell out of the neighbors every morning around 6:55am and put on FRPP ‘stinger’ (Mfg by Borla) mufflers. Wayne can attest to the ‘explosion’ of sound these babies make upon start-up. I can just see the neighbors bolting up in bed and saying 'What just fell through our roof?'

So I snapped a pic or two of my Saleen Supercharger (below) – installed and tuned beautifully by Marv (thank you again Marv!). I so wanted to do the install myself (when I see the massive jobs many of you here tackle in your garages) but then I envisioned running into trouble and having to get a flab bed to tow it to someone who knows that they are doing (aka Marv) and that would have been so embarrassing. So Marv did the hard parts including all the wiring, and I did the dash mount of the Saleen gauge pod which involved drilling about six holes in the dash ;)

This is my daily driver now and just a he** of a lot of fun to drive. I told my son as we got onto the I-94 ramp today ‘No law on how fast you get to the speed limit!“, then I floored it and I swear his face turned a few shades lighter ;)

I’m looking forward to meeting all of you again this summer. See you at the gas pump!

Great looking car!

And I met an officer about 8 years ago who'd beg to differ with this statement below... to the tune of $586 and 6 points. :p

The only good thing about winter is having time for all the projects, what else would we do all winter????

Looks like you have a really nice ride there, plan on racing at GLD this year? :thumbs_up

[ Sorry I've been silent, but I've been away the last two days at my mother-in-law's funeral - just got back. Great woman, full long life - will be missed]

Thanks for all the comments on the ride guys. I think I've got it set the way it will stay for a while, my wife agrees with that also!

Jason - Thanks - I want to see your car soon !

Trink408 - I'd love to get to GLD one of these weekends - as a spectator. I'm afraid I'd be starting pretty late in life to learn to drag race. However, I bet I could set a new record there - for highest reaction time! ;) I’ll leave the drag racing to experts like you and others here. I watched some of the Greg’s live feed last Saturday, very nice Greg, it is addicting to watch. I gotta get my butt down there. Can't make MMA day @ GLD, which is a shame, would have been a great time to meet many of you and ask stupid questions. You guys are in a whole other league from my street machine.

Mike - Can't wait to see your ‘adjustments’. I have a feeling you'll be going for a bit more than I was. I can't wait to see it.

Thanks
Jim
