hey, i was wondering if any of you could help me out. there are some nicks and scratches in a few pieces of the body kit on my gt. is there a special type of filler i have to use for the nicks since its plastic? thanks in advance :shifter:

spot putty might work. sand it down with a nice fine grit sand paper and try it out. i used spot putty on my quarter window trim (another good idea from fritz)

Yes they make a filler that is flexible specifically for plastic. You can use a regular filler, but it will most like crack. You can use some adhesives as a fill, but they may leave some pin holes. If that is the case spread some finishing glaze over it to fill the pin holes. Or even better yet and this is my personal preference, plastic weld it and be done with it.

dude, just go to napa and talk to the guys there. they are very helpful, im sure they could find what you need, or at least tell you.

NAPA!!!?? Whey wouldn't you go to an automotive paint supply store instead of an automotive parts supply store where they are going to have a better variety and more knowledgeable people on the subject. Or is Napa the only thing around you guys?

The plastic specific filler Brent spoke of is about the best solution you're going to find. When I was working in a body shop I used that stuff a few times to fix nicks and cracks in bumper covers. It filled very nicely, and flexed with the cover. Plastic welding would be the way to go but it's not easy to find people that can do it.
