I have been investing in a Thrift savings plan (like a traditional IRA) throught he military, however I am thinking about rolling it over into a Roth IRA. I found one that i am looking at managed by Vanguard called the target retirement 2045 fund. It has performed well against the S&P 500 index since it has come out and looks like a good deal to me. plus vanguard seems to have a good track record.
My question for you all is who are you going through for your IRA or do you manage them yourself? I dont have the time or desire to go through all 8,900 some-odd stocks in the market to find what i think will perform well for my retirement fund, so i figure i will just go with one that is diversified among several index funds and changes as i grow closer to retirement, gradually increasing shares in bonds and securities rather than stocks as i get "old":D

Soooo, what is everyone else using and how do you like the results? anybody using vanguard?

You got some time to read? I found this post to have some useful nuggets about money and investing in general in it. You do have to wade through some non-relevant stuff, though. http://corner-carvers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26184
