Tower struck by lightning at GLD!!

YIKES!!!

We are closed tonight and possibly Friday due to the fact that our timing system took a direct hit from lightning last night. :thud:

One of the timing display boards (yes the new ones) was damaged also. We are working to restore ASAP. Will update when new info is available.

We should be able to run Friday and Saturday but please check here for updated info.

The Compulink computer got blasted and there are three boards that interface with the Compulink system that got smoked in the process. (It's just a PC with special boards and software installed) However the replacement parts should be in Ray's hands any time now. I've always wondered why we don't have a complete backup computer sitting in the house for this kind of emergency, but what do I know??

(Ray lurks here, I'm gonna get it now!) :hehe:

UPDATE: All replacement parts are installed, testing of the system will begin shortly. Ray says he thinks we will have no problem opening tomorrow... :beer:
