I was at Jefferson today and bought a Saleen body kit. It is fiberglass and I am curious if anyone has a personal experiance w/ these kits. I have read all over the internet that they are a total pain. That could be all "he said, she said bs". I put on the front cover and will admit that it doesnt fit the best. Can you heat up the fiberglass to form it better or to move it how you want it? thanks This will go on my car, I used to be into body work as a profession and I will do a project out of this and let you all see for you own eyes. I have read that urethyne kits from saleen are also a pain in the a$$.
Yes fiberglass will move with a heat lamp and straps, come-a-long, bolted down to a jig, etc. More than likely you'll have to do some sectioning to get it to fit and look right. This is all common place with Glass and Carbon racecar bodys.

so.......come-a-long you say.eh? Is that a joke, cuz I would rather mount it to my wall before I go and use that. I dont need to move it much. At least fiberglass is easy to work with.
say that the ends of the front cover need to come in to meet the fenders. a come a long would be used to pull the ends in while the heat was applied then it would come off and the cover re-fitted.

See...now I thought you were just being sarcastic when you said use a come along. Now that i think about it, that will make the job much easier and quicker to pull the side together. I dont like how it flares out towards the bottom of the car. Here is a pic and thanks for the great advice Punchy.
