It feels like forever since i last been to the track, so this Friday me and my lady are heading up there. Since i installed those fox body springs, i wanna see if i can drop into the 1.7x 60' times  (1.82 before).
Is anyone else going to be up there tomorrow night?

It's high school night and on Fridays we get a lot of front-drive cars that drag water all over. A lot of us will be up at WIR Friday... Leave early and come along! :D Drive up here (I am an hour from GLD) and we'll cruise up to WIR Steve...

Aren't schools out? Well, that sux, if there is a lot of FWD cars messing up the track, i won't hesitate to leave a bit early. I hope with the hoilday weekend that the track won't be super packed tomorrow, maybe a bunch of people will be out of town cause of it? I'm trying to get my buddy to bring his `71 Chevelle SS to GLD. Has a 502, but sits on 215/60/15's! It's going to be a smokeshow. Speaking of Smokeshow, I hope Josh will have the grapes to show :hehe:
Greg, what's WIR? Is that Waynes Drive In. What are the directions from GLD?

WIR=Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, WI, for Real Street Drags. Bunch of Chicago people expected there... The H/S program runs thru the summer run by the cops...

If you want to go to WIR, drive up here first, just take I43 up to Ozaukee (I can PM details) and we'll cruise to WIR together...

Sounds fun Greg. But that's a good drive, and i'm not sure if the woman and the rest of my buddys that are going will want to drive that extra hour+ But, we'll see, especially with my friend with the Chevelle, he gets 100 miles per tank.
What time are you going/start? How much to race?

I went to GLD with the Cobra Jim. It was a toss-up between GLD and WIR, and since it seemed like most of ya's were not going to be there, I decided to go to GLD and hang out with Steve and Mark and a few other guys. I would have kicked ass but those stones scared me away... ;)

Cobra ran pretty good on motor only with no power shifts. :D

there was double the cars and double the spectators this time. it's really nice to see this event coming around at wir. it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. :D

goodwin showed up with his viper, and reinhart showed up with his nova. both of those guys run the pro edelbrock series. reinhart was the xtreme street champ last year. it sure was a treat to see these guys run. man, are they fast!! they were looking to win some cash from the chitown boys but they didn't show up.

Glad it's coming around. :D

As for how good- Let's just say "right where it should be" as in MPH. I was not powershifting and not launching hard and it still ran very well, only a few tenths off of the best it has run on motor on the tires I ran with (the nitto road race tires)

No, ET's and mph were down
Traction just wasn't there. Even leaving at idle i was spinning, couldn't get better than a 1.95 60 foot time.

I wasn't doing so good either, that's why I was happy with the ET's. With a little more hooky they would have been retty good! Had a great time hanging out with you and Cassandra and Troy though... Sorry about the mix-up on the directions! :thud:

I think Troy was running a little better than Steve was. I don't know if they raced heads-up.
Tony I was asking about you, sorry you couldn't make it bro. :(

We had a fun night as well, it was nice to see that Cobra of yours, and finding out what ASP meant, hehehe.
No biggy directions, he figured it out. I'll see you in a few weeks at EAA!
Me and Troy never lined up, he was just about done racing for the night by the time i arrived. I don't know what's going on with my car, i seems to be falling on it's face up top :thud: I ditched my CAI and Pro-M maf and threw my stock meter and intake back on, i think i was running way too lean. I will be looking into some BBK headers, but not sure if I want long tubes or those new shorties they came out with(#1615 make good power), heard shorties breathe better up top. Then a dyno tune and i hope that will help me out. Greg will be getting my keys next time, i wanna see with a better driver what times my car is capable of :burnout:
