I decided not to get the 85 that I posted the other week. He sent me some pictures with some rust that I didn't like, plus it woulda needed a tranny right away. Finkler and I are leaving Friday evening and we are going to pick this up.....

Greg, when I think of one I'm gonna need a user name adjustment. And I'll be joining the eleven second club as soon as I go to the track. What kind of a differnece in et will it make if the previous owners track is at 2400 ft compared to GLD?

Looks great Aarron. As for GLD, the corrected elevation was 2400 feet on Saturday...
Keep in mind that physical elevation and actual are almost always different. You will just have to run the car and see what she does. We are getting into that time of year where the air can be extremely good for power at GLD.

Nice car, congrats...

What's the fluid on the ground in pic #2? Might be worth asking if it's from the car you're going to buy (oil pan or tranny when the car was backed in). Hope not but can never be too safe.

I am hoping to have it to the race track either for the MMA fall races, or sometime in Oct for sure.

I hate it when they paint the moldings the same color as the car.

Other than that minor detail that thing is awesome. Yellow FTW!

You might have to photoshop your car above then...

I got my car all loaded up on the trailor and ready to go. Leaving tomorrow after work and gonna stay overnight in a hotel in Des Moines. Previous owner ran a new best MPH last night in it. He had a crappy 60' of 1.7 and went 11.7@117.99 with a DA of 3100 ft. He also weighs 300 lbs to my 160 lol. The cars best et to date is 11.6@117

Good luck buddy...

One thing I have to say though- I question the judgement of the guy for going racing when the car is sold. Yes it is still his car until the change of hands, but... damn! So many things could have gone wrong. Broken axle, broken trans, blown gasket, etc etc etc...

He's beatin' the snot out of YOUR ride man!!!

For a stick car, that ET is pretty much in line with the MPH. With good driving you should be able to get it to go 11.60's. Keep in mind that when you have a poor 60 foot, you might see a little higher MPH.
Can't wait to see this thing! Hope you can bring it to MMA day next weekend!!

He just called me and told me not to leave! He said it sounds like it has some bearing noise, and that he was gonna pull the motor. He drained the oil, and he said it looked like there was a fine substance in the oil. He has to leave for business for the next 2 weeks and will have it taken care of and we will reschedule. The car is an auto ( C 4 ) and it is usually good for low 1.6 to upper 1.5 60's. He said he would have felt terrible it it would have developed shortly after it became mine, and that he was gonna fix it right. Also plans to send me pictures as well. I have talked to the guy numerous times on the phone and he seems to be a stand up guy.

I just got off of the phone with him. He said the noise was coming from 3 backed out flex plate bolts. He said that they cut open the oil filter and it was clean. He told me that he was still gonna pull the pan and inspect the main bearings as well.
