View Full Version : Betty's in the chassis shop.

Been waiting all summer for Brian Metzenheim (Metz Performance) to have an opening for Betty in his shop. My turn finally came up yesterday. So Betty's interior is out and she's in the shop. The unibody will undergo some serious surgery to transform her into a stout platform for high horsepower.
After removing the carpeting, you can see how incredibly clean this car is, there is not a spot of rust anywhere, the floorpans looked new. However there was some buckles in the usual places, but no tears. Brian said it was one of the cleanest fox body cars he has seen in years.
She's not getting some generic "cage in a box", all the work will be custom, and anyone who has seen Metz's work knows that he does some of the best work in the business. Metz has helped Markstang with his True Street car and I'm honored to be able to work with him. He's that good.
Can't wait to get her back, but she's done for the year though, as there are some rather wholesale changes in the works. :hehe:

man you must have the most hugest money tree. cool i wanna ride and then drive it too
1. If I had a money tree I'd be driving a Roush.
2. If I gave you a ride, I think you would say "THAT's it?? I thought it would be way faster!!"
Wait a sec... Been there! Done that!! :hehe:

Not really Greg... Lot of cars with cages that are very street-friendly.
I don't plan on being the fastest thing on earth. It's all relative. And not near as expensive as a new car is...

It's not gonna be that fast!
I want it safe, solid and to go down the track nice and straight. That's what Metz specializes in. I am not going to be in the same league as those other Mustangs. Trust me.

Yes that is true, but when have you ever done anything half azz. And Metz doesn't build slow cars. So I'm gonna to have to venture and say never. So I think that I smell a 9 second car being built. And Metz doesn't build slow cars. I wouldn't be suprised if its mini tubbed and legal to run in to the 9's.

Geez... Now when my car is borderline fast, all I'm gonna hear about is how slow I am...
To quote Mike Cooper:
"I'm building this car for me, to have fun"
And that's that!
Maybe someday I can build a True Street car but I don't have that kind of green. As it is I am stretching every last dime and every favor I have left in the performance world to make it to where I want to be.
As for idols... Mark, Bob and Metz are my mentors.

damn i got quoted.....greg angeli WHOOOOOOO. but really thats what its about dont do **** cause people want you to thats highschool ****. do what YOU want and how YOU want it. YOU will be happy with the end result. as for the others i have to quote my friend darrell. "**** them if they dont like it" . and if he says it...it is so. i made my car with a bit of both good looks (except driver) and some speed...thats the way i like it. when its done you are gonna be happy and if others are let down by how it does or does not perform who cares.!!!!!!!!!!!
