I notice even at moderate speeds on the freeway that my hood has some movement in it. i would like opinions about hood pins for my car. Real kit, not the tape on fake crap. Here is a pic of what they might look like. Give me some feedback people, I appreciate it.

I have them on my LX. They do the job.
i don't like them, but function always comes first before looks in my book.

The old twist locks would look way better than pins and do the same thing.

1970 mustang twist locks about $100 on e-bay, Year One has them also $71.

if they are done right and u like them... go for it, its ur car and if u want the extra safety of the hood not flying up, more power to ya. you can never be to safe

My hood danced around at the top end of the track and i thought i would need hood pins too, but i just adjusted/raised my rubber hood stops a tad to make it a tigter fit, now the hood sits still:D Plus i don't like the way hood pins look on my body style car. But the 05-07 have the vintage look, so the hood pins will look sahweet!

i needed them on all the stangs i had ,i had to many hoods fly up it scared the living out of me.
I don't really like them, but will probably put them on my new hood anyway for safety. I had that style you posted moels and they worked out nice as you can never lose the pins. I bought another set a while ago that are the same but more of a dull gray anodized color as I donn't want them to stand out much.

I would go with the twist down type or the key lock type. I think those look the best and work the best

I have had them on a few cars, they work, but don't really like them. Too many chances of scratching up a nice paint job taking them on and off. Even being super careful every time, there is always that once that you slip up and ad that nice new scratch. For function and scratches around that area they are great. My Dad has the twist downs on his 1970 Mach 1, now that is the route to go. Those work great and no chance of scratches.

my thoughts too... I've seen people get careless and just yank the pins out, scratching the crap out of the hood... and for some reason, I don't like the idea of drilling holes in a stock hood...

I would find an alternate solution before putting on the pins. If nothing else works, then go for it. If the hood is moving too much, I wouldn't even worry about it. The hood on my Ford Probe moves a lot when on the highway but it never even came close to popping open on me.

One time on our way down to Highway 100, my buddy in a nice ram air trans am had his hood fly open. i was slightly behind him in the left lane and it was not a pretty sight seeing him try to pull over, looking out the window. I know they are on my winter mods list.
