Well, as some of you may know I decided to convert my EFI to carb this winter. What a project. Basically I tore the engine compartment down to the bare long block, ripped out the fuel lines took out the rear end and started to put in all new stuff. Well tonight was the moment of truth. It took a few tries and the help of some friends but after double checking a few things and setting the timing she roared back to life for the first time since I shut her down in October. Just hearing it run was worth all the work. All of the worries and paranoia about did I do this right, is this wired up correctly, etc. are gone now and I can be happy. All that's pretty much left now is to finish setting my gears and put the rear end back in and she'll be ready to roll and I can do some tuning. I can't wait to get it back out on the road. :shifter: I truly think it's going to be better than ever.

Congrats on the new setup.
What setup were you running before and what did you switch to?
Costs?
Like we talked before I am thinking about doing the same thing.

It's got a stock rebuilt forged bottom end bored .030" over, self ported E7's with Trick Flow valve springs, e-cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, and a 575 CFM Speed Demon Carb. For Ignition I used an '85 5.0 Duraspark distributor with a MSD 6AL ignition box.

Prior to this I had EFI with the Cobra intake, 24# injectors, 75mm MAF, and a 70 mm TB. I haven't totaled up all that I spent to do this (nor do I really want to). One thing that could have been done cheaper was the fuel system which I probably have $350-$400 into. I just wanted to do it correct right away so I don't have to upgrade again in the future. I used a Holley blue pump, Mallory return style regulator, and aeroquip -8AN braided line and fittings. All of those fittings really start to add up in a hurry.
