If you would be so kind- please edit your user profile by adding your zip code to the new field you will find there. After you do this, please visit the main page of the website at www.midwestmustangassociation.com (http://www.midwestmustangassociation.com)
Scroll down and look on the right for your local weather! Mine actually shows "Port Washington" which I think is way cool. If you are worried about privacy, nobody but YOU can see the content of the zipcode field, it is not visible in your public profile.

Please let us know if your local weather shows up...!

Works like a charm Greg, even for us southern folks. :)

Now too bad I can't get my weather and your weather on the same screen. I could have the MMA as my home page then.

BTW are we going to be able to get our smilie creator back on this board? I miss that feature already.

Two features from the old board can't be installed here because they are security risks- the spell checker and smiley creator are designed to work with the old version of VB. I know you guys don't care about this stuff from an end-user perspective, but the codebase for this new VB is totally different and Kirk and me have been on a crash course with learning how to hack it. Everything you do is different then the old stuff. Consider- the first time either of us has seen the source code for VB3 was about a week ago- This board has already been customized to the MAX and we will bring those features to you guys as soon as we are able to make them compatible with this format. Thanks for understanding!

BTW: We could easly add another code for an alternate weather code, but... :D

That is what I figured Greg. Those are two features I really liked though, so I hope at some point in the future we will be able to get them again.

Ok, well just an FYI- Our "portal" has Google Search, your local weather, and also the world/National/MMA news ticker, so make it your home page!
We may be able to import a stsyem where you will be able to manage your own links on the main page as well- in other words, you could make MMA your home page, but right there on your page would be your own personal links- You could put links to CPG, or GLD, the Corral, your favorite girly sites, whatever. :D

Very cool!

I may be blind but how do you get to the forums from the main page? (I always go to the latest topics to get in.)

Greg@GLD

Just click the Latest Topics link- We can add "FORUMS" to the navbar also...

Thank you all SO MUCH for helping Kirk and me test this!

NOW- we are working on something else- the "Favorite Links" hack!
It's in BETA mode right now- If you want to help us, please go back to your user CPANEL and add a favorite link in the area provided- in the first box, simply enter a URL of a favorite place you like to visit. Like the instructions say, do NOT enter "http://" Just enter www.anyplace.com (http://www.anyplace.com) (where anyplace is the site you want, please no wiseasses!!!) In the second field enter a label for that link. That text can be any way you want. So an example for GLD would be:

Field 1: www.greatlakesdragaway.com (http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com)
Field 2: Great Lakes Dragaway

Once you have done this, you should see the link you created under the weather code. :D

Bzzzzzt. Doesn't work for me. (the weather thing) I get the red x. When I click on it, it goes to the right place. I imagine I need an updated browser. That will be rectified if my DSL modem ever gets here. I have a nice laptop with Win 2000 loaded and ready to go.

That weather site is not reachable right now, and it's not on our server obviously... Try again later or tomorrow, it will be back up... When I go to www.internettrafficreport.com (http://www.internettrafficreport.com) there are several routers reporting 100% packet loss. It just depends where you are.

Well now it's back... This is a screenshot of how the two new features should look in your browser:
