I installed my battery disconnect switch last night on my car (to be NHRA/IHRA legal with battery in the trunk). I fired up the car let it idle a bit and hit the switch expecting it to kill the ignition and nothing happened. The car continued to run. I installed the switch according to the directions in the positive lead to the battery. Is this correct?? If so, what is the purpose of the switch?? Is it just to cut off power from the battery to the engine compartment incase of a wreck??? Help!!
