I just bought a vortech SQ trim for my stang. I plan do install it myself because it really doesn't look to hard. One thing I am not very confident in doing is tapping the oil pan. Does anyone know a shop in the area that would do this for a decent price?

We tapped mine. It's no biggie just follow instructions.. You will have to buy a punch though

I was thinking about doing this...but I was worried about denting the pan and not being able to get the punch through. Also did you leave the pan on the car while tapping it?

Just did mine this past saturday. Not too bad at all. Did it w/ the pan on the car....kept making the hole a little bigger with different punches....then once it was big enough for the tap to get in and grab went to town. Just be sure to pack the flutes on the tap w/ grease to hold in the metal shavings.

Yes you don't want the tap to punch the shaving in the pan. Good advise
