I don't know if anyone's been following that incident over in Madison where the college student was allegedly abducted, but... When they first found the girl, Missie said "Something seems not right about this whole thing"
Now there's a news conference scheduled to announce a "major change in the facts of the case"
Wonder if this was a hoax by a girl who needs attention???
If you hear anything new let us know.

i guess that she was attacked ealier this school year, so it would almost make sense. i really hope, that it wasn't just for attention, but now that there's some "new development" in the case, i wouldn't doubt if that was the case. regardless, i still would kinda understand why she would have done that to an extent...
news conference at 10:00 am.

Well yes she was "attacked" before, but even that incident is sketchy- she supposedly was hit on the head from behind, dragged a block away and can't remember any details about the attacker. Ok, so think of it this way- why would a girl who was attacked go outside at 2:00AM unescorted if she had been attacked recently? Seems kinda fishy. Maybe she's under stress from College and just went a little wacko?
There's a report now that the woman who called 911 to report finding her also saw this girl at that marsh on tuesday and wednesday, and even spoke to her and the girl told the woman who reported finding her that "She likes to go to that marsh to 'get away and think about things'"
HHMMMMMMMMMMMM.....
Hmm. Another Loon hanging out at the marsh. :D

You boys know nothing about what you are talking about. UW Madison is consistently rated very high as a college. They just need to do the opposite of Notre Dame and raise the standards to get in! :D
My sister works on campus I should call her and get the lowdown.

She admitted that she was not abducted from her apt.She "just wanted to be alone",but she then claims that while she was "being alone" she was kidnapped at knifepoint.
WHATEVER
The police say that they are still investigating. The press conference was just plain wierd.
They were thanking all of the people for theier hard work in finding Audrey.OK so now what? maybe she should have to pay for all of this.

Well, now they had a second news conference. It's all CRAP. They have video of her buying duct tape and rope at a hardware store last week, and they found damning evidence on her computer.
As far as ripping on Wisconsin, the girl is from MINNESOTA, so give Dave Bandt a hard time.. :D
Ya hey der... :D
It's all North of the border....

I hope she has to pay for all of the manpower that had to go into this! It was national news for christ's sake! Detectives, helicopters with thermal imaging, that stuff isn't cheap. What a waste of taxpayer dollars.

well that really sucks, not that i wanted her to have been abducted or anything, but i can see where she's coming from to an extent with the whole wanting to spend time alone thing and wanting attention. i have a friend who did a similar thing when he went to madison for college, granted, it wasn't to that extent, but still, when you're attending a school as large as that, you feel so small and insignificant, you'll do anythign for attention. it kinda makes you take for granted what you have. in her case, she had a boyfriend, a 4.0 gpa, was attending uw-madison, and had loving family and friends that she more than likely took for granted.
I AM IN NO WAY JUSTIFYING WHAT SHE DID THOUGH! so dont get what i'm saying wrong here. i really do disagree with her means for getting attention. i dont know if they've made it official yet that she concocted the whole scheme, but from the information that has been brought about, it more than likely was something she did herself. i can't even begin to imagine what her family and friends went through in all of this so far, plus whatever more they'll have to endure until this is all said and done.

Jeff, in all honesty it sounds like you haven't accepted that some girl with emotional problems perpetrated a hoax on her friends, family and and entire community. I guess as a parent I see this in a whole different light. When the news came out that she had been "abducted" my heart sank and I said a prayer for her parents and family, because usually cases like this turn out "bad". This girl created fear in all the other young ladies that attend UW, and she caused people to worry needlessly. While she obviously needs serious help, portraying her as a poor victim who just did something as a cry for help is not the best conclusion IMHO.
As for "not made official yet" or "more than likely she concocted the whole scheme"
DUDE!
1. She changed her story several times.
2. She was seen on videotape buying duct tape, a knife, rope and the Nyquil that she says were all used against her.
3. Police found evidence on her computer that she had done Google searches for wooded areas and parks in Madison as well as a 5-day forcast.
4. She was seen by several witnesses walking around Madison freely.
Dude, wake up. Compassion is good. Common sense is also.
Please don't take my comments wrong Jeff, I see where you, as a younger person, would see this from a different persepctive.

when they first "found" her, my wife made the comment that she thought this girl might be suffering from mental illness. I think my wife might just be right...

I heard it is going to cost over $60,000.
I think she or her parents should be footing the bill on this one.
Wanting to be alone and planning your own abduction are 2 very different things.

the only reason i put it that way is because that's the way i saw it and from how i can relate to it. but like i said, i in no way agree with what she did, but you are right in that at that point, i was in disbelief of what had happened with the whole thing being all of a made up. i think what really pisses me off the most about it is that she threw everyone on the face of the planet for a loop. all of the people that went out there to "help" her were all doing that for what ended up being for no reason at all.

when i wrote that response, i didn't have any of that information... at least i dont remember reading about it until the next morning in the paper. :wtf:
"compassion is good, common sense is also." well i do have to say that is one of my worst faults as a person in that i tend to put everybody else before myself more often than not. and yes, i am very easily decieved. :p
but in response to all of this, she is pretty screwed up and does deserve punishment. at this point, i'm so sick of hearing about it, i could just puke. even as i was eating at perkins today at about noon, some old people were discussing it. and no offense taken. discussion is good. :D

You don't strike me as someone who would get twisted over a discussion like this Jeff. It's all good bro. She's safe at least and now she can get whatever help she needs to get "right" again.
