I'm a finalist

I've been named a finalist for the regional teacher of the year. The winner gets $1500+ in prizes, including $1000 to spend on themselves (can you say "built C4?)

I was pretty shocked to be named a finalist, although I have never put much stock in these sorts of things :shrug: There is no way in hell I'll win; I'm too much of a goofball and a bit too unorthodox. Which is why I was surprised to be named a finalist.

But I get a free dinner out of the deal, and a cool engraved apple thing to put on my desk so I can feel important :cool:

thanks guys. I didn't win (big surprise there!) The dinner was pretty bad, and the speaker was horrible, but we had a lot of fun. They gave me a certificate and a red marble apple, which is pretty neat. This is truly one of those cases where I'm honored just to be included; because it was some kids who nominated me :)
