I have barely 6000 miles on my `03 and i noticed that the driver side valve cover has a lot of oil residue around the PCV valve  Why would this be happening? I see that the 4.6l PCV are a screw-in type or does it pop right out like any other PCV? Is normal or is it harmful? What should i do about this?

It shoudl pop out with some effort. These cars just seem to blow some oil back through the PCV back into the intake. First time I pulled my intake off I had oil in the bottom of it. Seemed to get worse after long tubes for me.

Hmmm, thanx Shane, that's funny, I just noticed the oil residue just recently and about 2 weeks ago I installed my long tubes, I guess the headers are the cause?

I just looked at my PCV and it doesn't pop out? I has like a octagon base, like for a wrench. Do i need to wrench the thing over. Not sure if the 4v motors are different from my 2v. Has anyone changed theirs yet on a `99 and up? I know i don't have to change mine now, but i would like to know before the time comes.

Steve they might be a little different from the windsor to the romeo motors
cause mine just pops out.
yes it is normal for the mod motors to have a little oil in the pcv system
thats why a lot of the guys put a oil separator in between the pcv and the intake track
