What aftermarket ones has anyone bought and where did you buy them from?? Have a set of used stock ones on now, and they cured my problem, but to get new stock ones it's $171.00 a side. I'm thinking an aftermarket pair may be cheaper.

put southsides on the car and throw those quads away.

Do you have aftermarket lower control arms? If so, you don't need those quads. I have my quads at home collecting dust with maybe 5k on them, you can just have, i don't need them. I'm going to the MMA dyno day, you can meet me there if you want them.
Welcome to MMA :D

Angie (hergt) has aftermarket upper and lower control arms already. They have some stock quads on now and the wheel hop has gone by by. I had the same problem. Bought real nice control arms and removed my quads so my DR's wouldn't rub at the track, but the wheel hop was so bad I had to put my quads back on. On that same note, tire choice makes a big deal when it comes to the tires hoppin off the ground. A harder tire will be more likely to jump around then a nice soft z rated tire, but even then it may still want to be jumpy like it was in my case.

Southsides are great yes, but they tear up your torque boxes. So for someone like Angie who only drives the car on the street and not bangin gears real hard, they aren't worth the money or the potential problem they cause from extended hard driving use.

I get some wheel hop if the tire pressure it too high, i street my tires at 28psi and have no problems with the hop.

What kind of control arms are on the car? Throwing away quad shocks has always been one of my first modifications. Good control arms will cure the wheel hop problem. Also, if the arms are adjustable check pinion angle too.

As far as southsides tearing up torque boxes, any control arm will tear torque boxes up if you have a good tire on it and make good power. Its not a southside only problem.

Very true, but liftbars in general pull harder on your torque boxes than a traditional control arm.

As far as suspension stuff goes I have the BBK upper and lower control arms and I also have the KB Subframe connectors. The tires on the car are completely gone. And I thought that alot of my problem would go away with getting new tires. ANd although I am getting new tires we got a set of used quads to see if it was just a tire thing, and because of the suggestion by upngo50 (Brent). Since he did go for a ride in the car and knew what it was doing. Well I don't think it's just a tire thing, because now I have NO wheel hop. And the car stays in it's lane alittle better now too. Meaning the tail doesn't want to whip around as fast or as hard as it did before the quads. So unless someone has some miraculas cure the quads will most likely stay on for me.

I dont think you wanna ditch the quads with those lowers. They are nothing more than a stock replacement lower. If you get into something like Southsides or HPM's, then you lose the quads. You will still get wheelhop without them and those bars.

Hey Dan, would you belive that my blue car has BBK upper and lower control arms on it?

Yep. Had them in the car since I bought it. I never changed them because they work so good. I couldn't justify spending money for something that doesn't need fixing.

Are you rolling your eyes at me? Do you think I'm full of ****? I will gladly snap a picture of them for you. My car has seen many wheels up launches using BBK control arms. Dan has been in my car and will asure you that there is absolutely no wheel hop and the control arms work just fine. Thank you very much.

Nope, I am rolling my eyes elsewhere cuz I too think BBK control arms are well worth the money. Just because a car still has wheel hop after installing a set of those doesn't mean they are junk. Like I said earlier, tire choice is also a factor when it comes to hop. I happen to like BBK products, have many of them myself.....

In fact if I wouldn't have gotten such an awesome deal on my Granettelli tubulars I would have been ordering up a set of BBK's..

oh, sorry I blew up. Yeah, BBK makes a good, strong street control arm. The only draw back is they are non adjustable. But they do work.
