Distributer????

OK here is my problem.

With the spout( basically locked out distributer ) When I set timing, if I rev the car the timing is varying over 5 degress( advance )

I have tried two different distributers and it still does it. I have a new timing chain also.

Any ideas??? Thanks in advance.

Try a different timing light?

There is a mechanical advance on the distributor too. When you rev it, it will advance with the spout out. You should see full advance by about 3000-3500rpm with the stock distributor.
