Ok I have a few inertia switches laying around...what should I use them on?
So far, I know that I'll have one running in series with the hot in run lead off the ignition switch since I power my msd and fuel pump relay switched legs off that lead. This will automatically power down the ignition (immediately killing the engine), stop fuel flow (lessen chance of fire, only residual fuel left in the system), and power off any accessories that only work when the key is in run. This way I wont have to hit a couple switches while the car is spinning on its top and I'm hanging upside down!
What else should be shut down in the even of an accident?
How sensitive are these switches? Lets say that I mount the switch in its stock location, along the rear of the trunk/hatch area, would it be triggered if I hit something head on? Or would it make sense to locate another inertia switch up front and wire it in series with the one in the rear?
Just trying to keep safety in mind with the coupe!
