O.k. The Centerlines on my car are I think 16x7 front and 16x8 rear. I am running a 205/55/16 front tire and a 245/50/16 rear.
I have a full set of Potenza's that are 225/55/zr16 , will these fit on the rears or do I need to stay with the size I have?
If I can use the tires I have I will get them put on on Monday. My rears are pretty bald as some of you know.

Yes Wayne, those Brigdestones will fit the 16x7's and 16x8's with no problem. The rim will be flush with the side wall on the 16x8's so watch those curb checks. Go 275's for the rear IMO :burnout:

I know it's probably to late for Moals but for anyonew else readin this thread, General rule of thumb for best sidewall performance is to go 1/2 smaller in tire width than your rim width. here's a formula for figuring tire width.
for a 225/55R16 (sectional width)/(aspect ratio)R(rim width)
simply take the sectional width divided by 25.4 (converts mm to inches) for the above tire you get a width of 8.86" (rounded)
To figure height multiply the sectional width in inches by the aspect ratio .55 (it's a percentage) you get 4.87 inches, this is for one sidewall only since there are two sidewalls tween top and bottom multiply by 2 you get 9.74" then add the rim width for a total of 25.7" Your 225/55R16's are 8.8" wide and 25.7" tall. You can use this formula to figure out what tire sizes you can use without worrying about affecting the speedo.
BTW a 274/40R17 is 10.8" wide and 25.7" tall
