Ok, here's the deal. I have a set of Moser 5 lug axles and I need to put some studs in them. The holes in the axle measure .585"-.590"in diameter. I bought .615 knurl press in studs hoping they would press in ok by guess what, they didn't. WAY too tight. Is this the correct stud for this application or not? I am thinking the axle may have been made to be used with the screw in type but I am not familiar with those. Does this sound right? Could someone explain to me how the screw in studs work and hopefully point me in the right direction. Thanks.

You need a 39/64 drill bit if you want to use them...

Moroso makes a new mustang wheel stud - Jegs part number is 710-46185. It has a .594" dia knurl and will work for you.

yup eric is right. it really isn't that bad of a job to drill them out yourself though. i think the hardest part was finding that drill bit.

those old .615" studs are a royal pita...I had to chamfer the lead in on mine and have them pressed in at a machine shop. Totally not worth the hassle since moroso finally started making the appropriat sized studs ;)

Yeah, you should see what was left of the one that I almost got in. I'll feel a whole lot better about it when the right ones are in.
