Ok I've noticed my car hasn't been stoping very well lately. It's almost like the front brakes aren't having much grab. When changing tires I also noticed that it looks like I have lots of pad on the fronts, rotors look good too. I had the front brakes done at 30 some K miles and the car now has 75K. I am easy on the brakes Last Sunday I went over to my friends for the Bears game and almost rear ended someone when traffic slowed up quickly at one point.
One other clue why I'm sure it's the fronts is I had my trailer on with a small wood chipper putting weight on the rear and the car stopped better. Since I'm not driving it daily it's not a huge problem but I'd like to be able to come out on Oct. 9th.
The cheapest thing I can think to do is throw another set of pads on the front and make sure the calipers are moving freely. Any hints of what else to check. The pedal feels firm so it's not air in the lines or anything. :dunno:
