Fox body stang please: Talking about getting new gauges for the car as a winter project. Want to know where everyone may have theres and if possible a picture of it in the car. Please note that I do not personally care for the ones that go in the vents, if I could get something that goes on the dash above the vent I would be ok with that, but I'm kind of partiall to keeping the vents. Also considering the pillar pods, but don't know if I want to go 2 or 3.
Also which gauges would anyone recommend getting. Tach will not be one of them. Currently have all stock gauges. I'm positive one will be water temp. Any others???

They do make one that mounts on top of the dash in that area above the vents in that "recessed" area (Look in Black88LX50's gallery. He has one of these). It looks good up there, probably easier to glance at than an a-pillar. As far as brands.. Autometer has never let me down. They have a huge assortment of styles and colors (black, silver, white background, etc.) so you can pick the one that looks best with your interior. Water temp is a good one. Oil Pressure is another one that should be considered. Also, if your car is AOD, trans temp might not be a bad one to monitor. May want to give thought to a fuel pressure gauge also depending on your engine/future plans. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Definately the pillar, otherwise you have to run the lines/wires around or drill a hole through the dash. Pillar!

I'm thinking I might like the looks of the pillar on better just because they are smaller. I'm not real big on the looking high performance. I'd prefer the sleeper type look, I know hard to do with a GT, but hopefully someone understands what I'm trying to say. I'm female I like the elimate of surprise, that's why I also own a GN.
And if I do any power adders it will be a SC, personally not a fan of NOS.

Well I can leave off the trans temp. It's a T5. But it looks like I'll be going with the pillar gauges. Water temp and oil pressure. For me personally they are inconsicious, which is more what I'm looking for. I thought the gauge pod that was on the dash was smaller gauges, but I guess I was wrong.
Thanks all for the info.

what about the glove box? thats sleeper/inconspicuous in my book..... my car is some what fast & you can't see the gages unless you realy look hard. the only tach is the stock tach in the dash.
Keep it stock looking & make it faster than it looks is my vote.

Dan-
The night pic doesn't do it justice. But here is one more night pic and one day pic, with the addition of the boost gauge.
