Well as such a hot topic that it is, I find it to be dead most places. I have frequented RSD, even at wir with no avail.(I could get a head-up race with a BBC now thats fair) I read that the king of the hill race will happen again, but what about us "other guys". I know myself, and MARK302 were interested(he probobly drove farther to and fro than anyone in the event)and maybee others) but weren't alowed. Most found me salty about it beacuse I have, and built myself a street car(for a fee I will prove that for you)That runs decent and can't find a place to race, even with people from the website I call home. I am sure anyone who spent the time and money I have to run, and race will agree that test, and tune gets old very old. I sure hope they run the stock suspension class at the street car brawls next year so i can have some fun, anyone else with me???? :shifter:
This post is just meant to clarify that i want to race my car. That and only that. I like to dragrace, Do you???

Bob, I think you are taking that Highway 100 thing to extremes dude. Do you want to setup a "street car brawl" of our own? We can do that, it would probably be a great time.
The shootout on Saturday was something that involves a small group of guys who gather at the same place ans shoot the ****, know what I mean?
Who else would be interested in a "king of the street cars" shootout? We can argue with each other about what constitutes a "street car" :D
BTW- YES, I love to drag race.

I think it would be a great time (WELL IF i GET THE BOTTLE GOING) even with the fact most are out of my league
but it would still be fun
I think it would be best done with 2 classes 1 for 11.50 and slower and 1 for 11.50 and faster
that way more people would run it with out the fear of having a 12 sec car go up with a 9 sec car IMHO

I 2nd this post.....
I think you need some bigger jets so you can run with the BBC cars. :D
I also think that the RSD is for slow cars. nobody has any balls to setup a race unless they know they can win..... nobody asked me to race at the last 3 RSD races that I was at..... I guess my car is fast.
So how about a short drive & then race to see who has the fastest STREET CAR on this site..... you can count me out, I don't drive my car on the street.

I think that would be great. At first I felt left out of the Hwy 100 thing but I do understand why they set it up that way I guess. A MMA car cahllage would be really cool!!! I don't like having a street tire rule because then people go out and buy the most expensive street SLICK they can find which really is as good as a reg slick if you ask me. I love the way Wild street is set up. Three passes after a cruise without opening the hood. It seems to keep out the Top fuel cars....
We really need to do this for next year. Maybe mid season sometime???

I'll race ya on the track or street... but I'm gonna need some help. I'm not figuring on being close to your times, but I dont care, because its just good to race.
I guess I can put my car on stands also. then we can push them off and see what one rolls out of the garage first.....

I belive involving everyone from this site in a heads up shoot out would be fun. It would be a REAL LIFE top five so to speak. I personally don't care if there street cars or not if thats the format, I will just saw the tree down and club Markstang over the head with it again :shifter: .
I realize what your king race was about, thats cool. Don't get me wrong I just want to dragrace. I plan on racing in outlaw stock at Byron, and at the brawl if they run the stock suspension class again. I don't have the money to win mostlikely, but it seems the only way to race heads-up.

Lets get something going for Oct 30th..... if all goes good this saturday, I'm going for #2 on the top 5 list. I can always throw a chute out the window so it looks like I have 1 on my car.

Id be up for that, not anymore this year, rules pretty simple:
Valid plates, working safety items (lights, horn),
DOT approved tires
Must have mufflers or muffler
No Lexan allowed

Hey guys, now you're making me feel bad. :(
Please understand- All Kirk and me did was setup the MMA day, like we have many times before, it was supposed to be a "fun racing" day. (And I know I sure had fun!)
Mark (SMOKDU) came up with the idea to do this Highway 100 shootout as a "sideshow" and I don't think either one of us expected it to catch on like it did and grow into what it ended up becoming. The last thing I want is for you guys to feel left out or excluded, come on dudes, I think of all of you as great friends. So let's plan something that comes as close as possible to making everyone happy (notice I said close as possible because my expereince has been that there is always somebody upset with the final format, no matter what it ends up being.
I know that many of you bring a trailer with your street cars in case you break. I ALWAYS drive to the track (Fritz has offered many times to let me borrow his rig if I want) You WIR guys have seen it, so has Rob and Mat from MC; I drive to the track, make my runs, drive home (hopefully) so to this guy, a "street car" is one where you drive it to the track, kick some ass and drive home, all in a day's work. :D
Just saying "I can drive my car on the street therefore it is a street car" is kinda hard to classify correctly. Maybe we do need to do something like make all who take part in this go on a drive out the gates, into Union Grove, out to I-94, back thru town and then back to the track? Does not have to be 30 miles. Or, anyone who drives to the track (and I mean from HOME, not from a drop-off point outside the gates!) is exempt from having to go on this cruise to prove streetability.
I'm open to suggestions....

you have way to many rules IMO.
Valid plates, working safety items (lights, horn), is all we need. even tho I have mufflers & don't have lexan..... dot or slicks is all the same thing now a days.

Like Greg said.....
If you guys want a MMA Street car shootout lets set it up.
We can do anything we want. So lets start talking about it.

Like Kirkster said, we can pretty much do what we want, my bosses at GLD are cool as hell.
So start with some ideas of what you guys would like & we can all work together to have a fun event.

Like I said to include everyone from mma it will, or should be run what you brung. I think a real life top five race would be cool.(doesn't have to be five but you get the drift) Have a couple qualifiers and run them out. The fastest car does'nt always win theres alot more to racing than that. It would be fun heads-up racing for EVERYONE involved with the site.

I know alot of people get scared off by heads up stuff if they don't have the fastest car, but it doesn't matter much when it is just for fun anyway.
I definately think any tire should be allowed though........I can think of alot of people who have only slicks or reg. street tires, that can't afford to but a DOT slick to run one race.

Like I put in my first post
I would like to see 2 classes 1 for 11.50 or faster and 1 for 11.50 and slower
that way you dont have guys running with a 10 sec car plus this way we would have a larger field and not just all the 11sec and faster cars running
cause at the same as the 100 shootout how people had the feeling of being left out all the slower guys would feel this way.
but I say hell yeah to a heads up shootout
but no matter what is done I will be there if only to T&T

I love the idea of a heads up race between MMA members. I didn't get to race in the King of the Hill race. I think we should have 2 classes A & B.
Class A for cars 11.99 & quicker & B for cars 12.00 & slower.
Sportsman Tree for both classes, unless the class A cars would like a Pro tree.
If the car is on the property with a plate, that would be good enuff for me.
Any tire would be fine with me. That's my ideas. :D
I would just like to race heads up. And no I don't expect to win, just want to have a little fun like Bob said heads up.

where do they have the rules listed for the stock suspension class? I can't find them on Byron's web page.
I know CFR in Iowa has a few outlaw type races also. not shure if they have a stock suspension class.
I think they will get something going at GLD next year. I will be pushing hard to get GLD to do a stock suspension class so I can race close to home.

I argee any tire should be allowed. Instead of a time break for slower or faster cars, why not just make it power adder or n/a class? I agree w/ Greg though, the car should be driven to the track. Pro-tree would be a blast.
