I have about a grand to spend on my car this winter. I already know that half of it's going to axles and gears. I have a CAI and Flowmaster Catback.
I was thinking of getting an x-pipe and that new plasma ignition system. Are there any other things I can do for around $400-$500 dollars? :burnout:
Thanks for the help.

What gears do you plan to go with?
if your talking about the plasma blaster I would not waste your money on it

I am planning on going with 4.10's. I don't drive it everyday, but I still thought 4.30's were a little to big for my application.
If I don't get the plasma blaster should I do Longtubes like Fatstang said and an throtlebody and upper plenium?
I really wanted to put a small shot (75-100) on it but my wife put the kybosh on that.

4.10s are a great gear for 2v modular (thats what I use)
longtubes are well worth it(if you do the install yourself(or with a buddy)
what mods do you have already??

Just a CAI and a Cat-Back Flowmaster.
I have to take my mustang in for some warranty work next week. Two bolts broke on the right side exhaust manifold so they need to take all that stuff off anyway. Maybe if I provide the long tubes they'll put them on for me!

They might if your in good with the service department.
just remember if you go with longtubes your going to need a shortie mid pipe
I think 4.10s
long tubes with mid pipe
plenum (your choice of brand)
t/b (your choice of brand)
would be a great start.
what are the plans for the car as far as mods down the road??

What's the best plenum and TB to use? There are so many different styles and sets you can buy.

they are all so close in power that it should come down to price just stay away from the FRPP T/b cause its not a true 70mm
I have the C&l and the 70mm mac t/b(a lot people dont like mac products but I have never had a problem with them)

I thought the x pipe made a noticeable difference on my GT. I purchased a bassani and was very happy with the fit and quality. What about a timming adjuster? I think in a MM&FF article they picked up something like 20rwtq.

How are timing adjusters to install? I'm not even sure how they work. Do they simply advance the timing of the cams?

No they advance the ig. timing
they work by placing a triger wheel outside of the front cover and moving the sensor out as well. then by moving the triger wheel to diff. spots(diff. size teeth) it will change the timing.
if I ever take mune off I will sell it cheap like 75$ cause I now have a SCT chip

That was the other thing I needed to get...was an SCT tuner. I was looking at the Diable Preditor and the Hypertech unit. I can't just buy a speedo recalibrater for my 03 I have to use a full tuner to correct my speedometer. So if I get a tunner I wouldn't need the timing adusters?

I have the SCT Flasher and it calibrates my speedo, sold my T/A already, since it advances my timing on a curve instead of just a flat degree. Example, the timing is higher down low than up top.

I know you need tires also after the last MMA day!!!:) Get some M/T's on there with those gears you want. I wouldnt bother with the Timing Adjuster if the tuner does that also, and you will need it anyway save the cash and do it right the first time. I think Steve has a pretty nice setup there with the suspension and other parts he has, thats seems like a good way to go to me.

Next mod will be tires then :burnout: Get some Nitto's on those rims are better yet the new M/T's if the 17" ones are availble now.

I'd go with the M/T's if avaliable. If not Nitto's would be my next choice.

Alright I made my wish list for this winter.
Axles (probably mosler 28 spline), 4.10 gears, SCT tuner, and some M/T's.
If I have any left over I'll tackle the upper plenium and TB.

Why get 28 spline axles? Just get the 31spline T-lok and axles. If you want to stay 28 - there are enough stock axles laying around proples garages to replace any that you break...my .02$

It's because she doesn't understand that it can be safe. All she knows is that her brothers friend blew up some piece of crap in highschool with it so now she thinks all system are like that, and she is to stubborn to listen to me about it. Someday she might come around on it.
The reason I was going to go with Nitto's is that I thought thay lasted longer than the BFG's when used in day to day use. The car is mainly street driven and only taken to the track a couple times a year.
What's a 31 spline t-lok cost?

Sounds like Nittos are a much better idea for you then. You will blow through a set of BFGs in 2 months in the summer.

What he said.
28 spline mosers are a waste.

The 31 spline and t-lok will not be that much more....just the price of the traction lok - I got my stuff through gears r us and it wasn't bad at all.

I guess 31 spline is the way to go then.
Thanks for the help everyone.
