I purchased a PMS controller with the low impedence driver in it. If I am not mistaken the factory injectors from ford are high impedence.....Does this mean that with the new controller I can run both low and high impedence injectors ?????

Here's how this works-
If the unit you have has the "internal" driver, then yes you can, the PMS "knows" how to drive either type. If you have the style with the external driver box, then simply unplug that external box and plug the connector back into the PMS and then you can run the smaller injectors.

Also, since you are new to the PMS, be sure to bookmark www.stangtuning.com
That site has PMS support forums and they are outstanding.

Bob/Greg,
Thank you guys for your replies....

Bob,
I am still working on getting all the parts together to remove the FMU from my dad's car and go to the PMS setup. I just want to be sure the thing has everything it needs when I come down to see you for the tune. I may not get down there until next spring as I am starting to work on my '85 now.....that should keep me busy all winter.....

Thanks again guys,
I really appreciate the help

Sorry, Doug Wallis said that (The guy from EFI systems)
Didn't mean to provide false info... Those were his exact words, that the unit "knows" which ones are in circuit.

Its kinda like this...

if there is an amplifier on a pair of speakers (aftermarket or stock) itll run them fine...

but if you try and run 2 ohm aftermarket speakers on a stock radio, you'll burn the radio up..

I thought I asked him "Do you have to change any settings" and he said "The unit will know what to do with them"

So my bad if I didn't undertstand what he was saying in regard to the type with the internal driver.

Mr. Kurgan. You tune my old neighbor(Bob Cook's)car and now your a PMS expert??

Just playing. I read your review about slowly getting out or REN. The sport will not strive as it has without you.

Bob,
Below is the reason I posted this thread, I thought you could run both but this is cut from the post that the PMS I bought was listed in. I just wanted to show another example of the the internet mis-information

Question
Is the pms just for low impedence injectors? or is it the adapter that makes it low impedence and it can be for high impedence

Owner Response
Just low impedence.

Ouch, come on, I was just trying to help you, I asked the guy who builds these things exactly what you wanted to know and repeated what he told me. I wasn't intending to create examples of "internet misinformation", rather, I took time out of my day to call Doug and ask him on your behalf.
Call Doug Wallis at Phone: (864)944-9200 if you have questions about the PMS and how it functions. he does not provide tuning advice.

OH MAN !!! I am sorry Greg if you thought that was aimed at you NOT AT ALL.

You have been one of the biggest helps I have found on the internet.

That was aimed at the guy on the corral who was selling the controller I bought. It was kind of funny, he doesn't even know all the features of the stuff he is selling.

Once again I am sorry for the mix up. All the information you have provided me with has been awesome. I can't thank you enough......

I obviously totally mis-understood your remarks and now I feel like an idiot... :thud:

I thought when you said "another example", I thought you were saying "In addition to the misinformation Greg posted, look at this other example"

Sorry, I can't blame everything on being old and senile, sometimes I'm just stupid :D

No harm done at all I was really worried that I had insulted you. I just didn't want you think that I was throwing you under the bus after all the help and advice you have given me.

Later Greg,
