I'm just looking to get an idea for what I should do for a winter project. I am currently running 9.5:1 comp, self ported E7's, Edelbrock performer RPM manifold, Speed Demon 575 cfm carb, and an E303 cam. I am thinking about getting a pair of GT40p heads (I'm on a budget) and I'm wondering if the E303 is a good cam to run with a carb or can I do better? I'm still working on fully understanding all of the different characteristics of cams and how they affect the motor so any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well if you put on a set of P heads I would try a TFS stage 1 cam. I know seems like everybody has one because of the price, but it seems to work very well with the P heads and the fact that its cheap for a roller cam is just icing on the cake... I have been very happy with my tfs stage 1 and stock P heads!!

I 2nd the tfs stage 1 cam. I am a friend of 4 nomors and his car is very impressive to say the least. I believe he has baout $1500 or so tota l wrapped up into his entire combo, and run a 12.6. if I had known that I could of done that on $1500 I don't know if I would of spent $5k on building a 393.

4 nomor, are you running a carb or EFI, I forgot? I've heard that there are certain cams that are better suited to carb use.

An E-cam would be a great cam if your on a budget. You can usually find an e-cam for around $75 or less if you look hard enough. I had an e-cam in my '83 convertible with ported stock valve heads, Edelbrock RPM, and 650 BG carb. It was a great combo on the street if it's your daily driver and still ran decent times at the track.
