As was mentioned in my other post in the Lounge, the air today at GLD was some of the best ever. The Barometer was 30.88 at one point. (!)
Mike and me headed down there, we met up with Tim (Prored2000). After my car and Tim's car posted new all-time bests, we called Kirkster and told him he was missing out on the best chance of the year for a new best. So, the other old man decided to join us later on. I'm sure he's glad he did! :D
On Kirk's first run, he ran his best ever 15.01. Encouraged by that, he went back around, and promptly ran a 14.98@89MPH (keep in mind this is a V6 ragtop automatic car!)
We talked a little bit and I figured I might as well try to help push Kirkster even farther into the 14's. :hehe:
We pulled the jack & spare, aired the fronts up to 55PSI and unhooked the electric fan. Kirk let the car cool off to a safe level and then we ran each other. Here's the timeslip showing Kirk's new best ever:

I had a pretty good racing day myself, ran a 12.86 and then a 12.85 for two new bests ever. Not too shabby for what is pretty much a stock Mach1. Stock gears, no headers, running full stock exhaust thru the cats.
Here's my best timeslip of the day:

Mikey the cameraman got our best passes on video.

On another note, my son drove my Mach1 today at GLD, back in the far corner of the pits, down the straight road. He didn't stall it, I'm very proud of him. He only got two wrong on his temp test yesterday. I asked him how it felt to drive a 12-second Mach1 and he just grinned a big grin.
All in all it was a great day save for some bad family news. I can't do anything about that now so... Might as well post what we did today.
