Right now I have Fox body 5.0 springs in the rear. I had Joel cut a ½ coil, (including dead coil), and it dropped the car a little, but I would like another 0.5-1” more. Right now though the rear driver side is sitting a half inch higher then the passenger side. From the ground to the fender on the passenger side its 27.5” and the driver side is 28.” I would like the car to sit even, 27” all around. I’m not sure how much more to cut? Would a ¼ coil be too much? Can I cut more on the driver side, like ¼ coil and on the passenger side a 1/8 coil? Or will this just screw things up with weight transfer? I now cutting will change the rates. Or should I leave it alone? Also both springs are currently cut identical and the pig tails are facing the driver side, so why is one side a half inch higher/lower? :dunno:

I have Steeda aluminum lowers and Alton uppers with spherical bearings on the axle side, plus i have the stock shocks. I know the way the car torques/twist is on the passenger rear. Would that cause the height difference?

SN95 bodies must be different. I was thinking, what if i removed the isolators on the driver side to level out the car? can i do that or should i cut the springs? How noisy would it be with no isolator on one side? I already have noisy coilovers up front, how bad can it be?

I don't use any isolators...no sound problems

I've run no spring insulators before to try and level my '84. Mine sits higher on the right, but I think the body got slightly tweeked due to a previous front end collision. You could try adding an airbag inside the right rear spring. An air bag in the right rear might also help your 60 foot time. There are also spacers available for the top spring perch, but I can't remember which company sells them.

An airbag may be a good idea!

were these new springs that were cut?? springs will "settle" some after they've been installed and run for some time. i know that when i put the Moroso springs in the front of mine i cut 2 full coils out of them. after driving the car for about a month, the front had settled another good 3/4 inch.
