Axle Question, need some help.

I just slid in my 28 spline Moser axles into my stock trac. lock rear end and when I go to put the cross pin in it hits the axles and won't go through. (Yes I pushed the axles back out until the c-clips were seated.) It isn't that much interferance, maybe .010" at the most on each side. My question is can I surface grind that material off of the c-clips to get the axle to sit in deeper as long as the surface is flat still? I just want to make sure that it will be safe. I can't think of any other way to do it.

could you grind it off the end of the axle, were the pin is hitting? I wouldn't make the c clip any thinner.

Yep, just got back inside. I read that on the Corral and I just did it now. They fit like a glove. Apparently it is a common problem with Moser axles on certain differentials. Thanks man!
