OK, Who had to break down and get one? I just got one today. Didn't want to but thanks to our Governer I have one now. say hello to traffic jams in the i-pass lanes
I have two of them although I live in WI and go to Chicago only a couple of times a year.
Often I wouldn't have enough change and had to wait in the line for the "manual" booth forever.
I-Pass has been very convenient.

At Jewel they are 50 bucks. That 50 breaks down to 40 dollars on your account and a 10 dollar deposit on the unit.
My parents got one today, and I should prolly go out and buy on today as well.

If the I-pass lanes are backed up you can use it in any lane.

I am glad its gonna be 4 bucks for semis, a nice tripple affect. It really compliments the 2.25 diesel I get to buy. I am made of money though so who cares right?

Thats right, whats more important? You keeping your hard earned money or giving it too our "highly efficent out of control bloated state government"

I actually think it is more of a ploy to force people to switch to the IPASS technology. In turn saving the tollway a little employment cost. The fewer manual lanes w/ workers, and fewer people needed to pick up cash at ever plaza, etc. But in the mean time, guess they figure they can make money on people who refuse to get them.
I love my IPASS, works in any lane, never have to dig for coins or worry about having cash on you. Really don't cost you any thing. $10 that you get back if you ever return the unit. The other $40 you would spend at the tolls anyway.
I do feel for the truckers though, big increase. Unfortunately, will probably force more of them onto side roads tearing them up and making traffic through towns more congested.
