Who has a performance chip in their Stang? I have a Diablo Sport chip. It's good quality chip, but my programmer is retarded! I had to send it back multiple times! And it's not easy to remove and re-install over and over with my fat ass :p I guess what i'm trying to say is, what brand do you run and what are the pros/cons of it?

I currently have a Fordchip (no relation to Ford)

Right now one of the best out there is the new SuperChips Custom.
They have two of the countries top tuners behind it.

That is what I am going to in the near future.

If I had the extra dough i would too go with the SCT. I just installed a Superchip for Ghoststang, Tony. He like's it and it has like 4 settings for like $350. I need tires first before any more mods.

I currently have a Fordchips reflash and 3 position chip. Once the car is done it will be getting an SCT - hopefully before the WFC.

I have to say I really like my sct chip I have yet to run on the either of the 2 nitrous programs but I can say even if I was just the n/a program it was worth the money

When I had my 03 Cobra I had a few different chips. Ultimately I ended up with a "flash" on a new PCM from Jerry and Chris @ FordChip. Best tune I've ever had on a modded Mustang. Same guy Kirk referenced. The new stuff comming out is very versatile. My dyno graph of the end result of "on the fly" real time dyno tune is in my user gallery here as an example. 8^D

SCT website
http://www.superchipscustom.com/

this place is a place that specializes with v6's and would probably be your best bet.

Another source for SCT products is Modular Depot. They also have a SCT specific tech forum for people that purchase through them. All the SCT guys are there. Ryan got the complete Racer package there.

Jeff,

Pete is still running Fordchip so if you need it reburned he can do it.

I should be able to swing the cost of that by mid summer myself. Thanks for the links. I like the PCM tuner idea where you can have more than one tune. I'd like to be able to use regular gas some of the time the way the price is going. :thumbs_up

Well I believe Fordchip was originally and is Pete's business, Jerry just provided the programming. He is officially a part of SCT now.

SCT now has the expertise of both Jerry & Chris Johnson. :thumbs_up

All that for a difference of $2 a tank? Not worth the hassle for me. And besides when you switch back to the Hotter tune you need to get all the 89 out of the system. That takes a full tank of 93. Just easier to me to run 93 all the time.

True when you do the math it's not much difference. Sounds like it'll be the SCT for me as well.

There is also Alberto that used to help them.

He can still do their chips and is also an SCT dealer.

just so you know sct has switch to a 4 slot chip so you can have up to 4 programs on it and any space not used turns the chip off

I have 3 tunes in my chip
1 n/a tune
2 nitrous tune
3 nitrous tune
and the 4 spot turns it off

It is the one that will flash the EEC through the OBDII port. No chip.

Yes the package that allows you to change/set anything.

Kirk, since you bought a flasher, does that mean you have to ditch your current Fordchip you are using??? I'm not to smart when i comes to computers of any sort. :thud: What's the difference between a flasher and a chip and what can the other do that the one can't??? I need some learning up in this department. :worshippy

From what I know of the flasher units is it reprograms your stock computer. You connected it via the diagnostic port and you don't need an aftermarket chip. The nice thing is you can also return to the stock program. The ad says it holds 3 other programs and the stock tune. I'm thinking of getting one. I'll see how it works for Kirk
