i am just wondering if i did a 11in brake conversion with the SVO calipers to the front of my 82 mustang would my 14X7 rims still fit on the car?

If nobody already knows for sure, I have a spindle, 11" rotor and 73 mm caliper that I can quickly mock up on my original '84 GT 14x6 aluminum wheels to see if everything clears. I'm doubting that it would work since I helped do an 11" conversion on a friends "82 Mustang and the early '86 15x7 10 holes would not clear the caliper. He ended get some '87-up 10 holes to clear the caliper.

You should think about upgrading to a bigger wheel and tire package. 10 holes or 5 bars are pretty cheap these days.

The bigger caliper hits the inside of the wheel so your 14's won't work. My '84 Mustang 14x5.5 wheels are 12" for the inside diameter. You'll need an inside diameter of 13" or more to clear the caliper. The 73mm caliper clears my 15x7 Enkei wheels where mearsure 13" inside.

In case didn't already know, you would also have to change to the '87-up V8 Mustang spindle due to the 73mm caliper bolt hole spacing is 1/2" wider. Also, the 11" rotor hits the caliper mounting holes on the '82 spindles.

i knew changing over to the 87 spindles but, i was just wondering about the clearence my wheels. the smallest dia, which is closest to the mounting plate, is 12 inches. about 1 inch up from that they are 13in and at the top they are 13.5.

for now, assuming the SVO calipers will not fit under my rims, will the stock 87 calipers fit. that way when i get new wheels i can upgrade the calipers.
