I owne a 97 Cobra and am looking to supercharge it some day when i save enough money. I have done studing on them and have looked at several different makers. I am looking for peoples experiences with them the goods and the bads that sort of thing. Also what amount of boost would be safe to run with my car.

Hello & welcome.

I am going to move this to the power adder tech forum. You will get better responses there.

Looking to run on pump gas, race gas or a little of both ????

A good fuel system & tune is the key to long life in a supercharged car.

A have a friend with a Mystic Cobra with a Procharger. He is a member of this site but doesn't post often. He likes his combo.

A lot of people run a Vortech or a Novi with great results also.

You'll love your car on boost. :shifter:

My brother has had a couple of Prochargers and he has had great luck with them. Even with a ton of abuse he never broke one or even wore out the bearings.

I would get a Paxton myself. Sideway's @ 60mph is fun!! You will love boost. Kenne Bell on a 97 cobra wouldn't be my 1st choice. A friend was gonna do that and the guy @ Kenne Bell admitted they aren't the greatest on the n/a cobra's and said they had some issues still to work out of them.

The Vortech S-trim or a Novi 2000 is the hot ticket. I've put KB's on 94 Gt and a lighting Pick-up. The lighting felt great but we never put it on the dyno. The 94 GT was down about 75hp over the same combo with a Vortech. The Paxton would be my first choice. You can run it at 10lb on the street or turn it up to 30lb as your budget permits. 10lb on the street is about the norm on pump gas with a good tune and no cooler.
