Alright I need some advice guys. I am looking to get a blower come spring. I will be going with a vortech most likely. This will be done on a budget if that makes any sense (budget blower). I am leaning towards the Vortech SC, I know the SQ isnt much more, but my car isnt a race car and I have the stock bottom end still and have no plans of changing that anytime soon. I already have 36lbs Inj and the MAF for them I also have a T-rex. Do you guys think this set up will be safe with the SC running the fmu and a power pipe hopefully seeing 5-8 lbs of boost? I know 42's and a PMS would be the best but thats out of budget also. I dont want to exceed 10lbs of boost with the stock bottom end. Does this sound like a alright idea? Any opinions or advice are very apreciated. Thanks
My current combo is:
TFS TW Heads
GT40 Intake
TFS stage 1 cam
65mm TB
Car makes around 300hp and 320 tq to the wheels

It will be safe but not the best fuel curve. I would at least get the adj. FMU. If you have any money left try picking up a MSD BTM some where.

I will be getting the MSD BTM also, the FMU that comes with the kit isnt adjustable?

What about a Novi 1000? Kind of in between an SC and an SQ.

The FMU in the kit should be adjustable. You will need to buy the different disc and rings to tune it. Vortech sells a master kit with every combo available. A air bleed on the FMU is another thing guys use with good sucess.
BTW I have a BTM for sale if you are interested.

Havent really looked at them very close. I like the reliability of the Vortech and all the good things I hear about them. :D

Do some research on the Novi 1000. You will see that they are also a solid and reliable blower.

The air bleed is what I was talking about.

I only have 38lb injectors with an FMU and they are plenty for my combo. That is more than enough injector to split the block!!!
And stock 5.0's are pretty tough.

Novi 1000 is better then S-trim IMHO novi can make 15 psi. Paxton spins one up to 17 and they are quiet also compared to s-trim. Want more boost novi 2000 can go 30+ psi!
My friend has a A Trim aka SC trim and mine makes boost lower and has a lot sturdier brakes also 8 rib belt comes with it

I'd have to agree. Anyone that can go that fast on 6psi of Powerdyne is doing something right!
