I am looking to have a duel tension setup on my vortech s-trim. A guy on superchargerhelp.com made them in the past, but no longer does.

Has anyone have more info on this? Or know another company that makes anything similar?

I have one on my Powerdyne. I had a local guy make me the peice and all I had to do was drill one hole.

What exactly do you need?

The best way to describe it Mark, is a tension setup that looks like a gen 2 lightning. Instead of one tension pulley, I want two. Buy doing this you almost eliminate belt slippage by putting tension on both sides of the blower belt.

Do you have any pics of your setup Mark?

Thanks.

just so you know, its a double edge sword... each pulley takes HP to turn... I run 1 tensioner on my renegade car because it made less rwhp with dual tensioners then 1.. my $.02

Not to hijack this thread...but Mark can you see how much the guy you know would make another one for me?

Thanks

I am having trouble making boost, I have heard of guys making 19+ lbs with s-trims. When running this year the most I saw was around 14 peek, and it was slipping all over through the power range. I always have tons of rap, and is VERY tight. Bob I also run the interaq program, so I know exactly how much boost I am making.

believe me, when you think its tight, it aint tight... if you ever saw our belts you'd understand..

btw, i have found that belt wrap doesnt mean diddly... its all about how tight it is...

IE: if you have the old tensioner setup with the 1/2" drive for the torque wrench, put about 250lbs-300lbs on it.. thats how tight we go... (you shouldnt do this without a strut brace)

I don't know how many lbs I had, but i use a 2 foot breaker bar.

What brand of belt do you use?

As far as I know you cannot use the strut brace on a s-trim.

well, you should use a torque wrench so you have consistent tightness on teh belt..

any of the good brand belts work... dayco, gates, goodyear...

a strut brace may not 'bolt on' but i have put them on s-trims... just requires alot of custom stuff and not cheap.. but going fast is not cheap..

AMEN to that last year i lost my belt tension pully and ran without one and the belt was only 1/4 around the pulley but was really tight. and i never lost any boost at 15 psi. it sounded like a guitar string. is that hard on thje motor being that tight?

Thanks for the info. I will look into what it takes to install a strut brace.

Mike , The reason I have 2 tensioners is because I turned the blower and the belt would have hit the water pump without it. But the guy charger me $50 to make it if you are interested.
