I'm looking for some opinions about whether or not I should loosen my rocker arms to take pressure of the valve springs over the winter. What do you guys do with big roller cams? I do have a hydraulic roller so maybe that would make a difference. My engine builder said it did not really matter, but I have heard other people say you should always take the pressure off over the winter.

Any thoughts??????

It depends on the spring rate. For most people it really wouldn't be an issue. If you're running a hyd roller i wouldn't worry about it. But if you had a big solid that you turned to 9K it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Or just be like me and blow your motor up at the end of the year....the rockers will loosen up all by themselves then!

What I've been told is that it's really a matter of preference because the springs get weak from cycling when the engines running, not so much from being held still while compressed.
