For opening day you should be fine with shoe polish. But it is a good idea to get a dial in kit. Otherwise you will not pass tech.

yeah greg. i think they had a lot of problems with not being able to read dial in's and car numbers then people complaining when the track didn't get it right.

Well see the way we do it at GLD- we have "dial-in boards" with LED displays that we place on the line, and it is the responsibility of the racers to make sure the dial-in on the led board is correct- if it's not, you wave down the starter and correct it. Once the tree drops, it's too late now. Whatever was displayed on the LED board is what counts. We do allow Geddes dial-in or shoe polish.

Same thing as WIR, but they still enforce the dial in. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

yeah, the one time I was at WIR last year, I got scolded for not having a permanent type window dial in. Figured THEY, (track owners/whomever), was just trying to make a buck at my expense. Still haven't purchased one. Don't figure I will. Hell, just TONITE put the permanent numbers on the car...........:>*
