you have to upgrade your alt to a 3G alt for one. I have a really nice wiring diagram at my house on my computer. I used it to hook up a taurus fan on my car. I can send it to you when I get back to my house tomorrow.

I recommend 3g for any electic fan. Not sure on the price of the Tauras or Mark 8 fan's ect. I like the fit and looks of the Spal I have. It will move more cfm then the Ford fan's for sure

Yes, A 3G alt upgrade is a must. I have heard the Taurus fan is OK untill about 400hp.
Kool Rock, The highest rated SPAL fan I saw was something like 2800cfm. The Mark8 fan (second design) is over 4000cfm. Plus it has a shroud to pull air through the whole radiator. I know a few people who use this fan and it is unreal! It move a lot of air!
Kelly, If you don't already have a fan I still have a few for sale. Including a new in the box Mark8 (second design) fan. Cheap. I even have a wiring, relay and temp switch kit for them.

Wow if it's 4000cfm then that is more than a spal.

I use a black magic fan. It cools my engine perfectly. I don't believe any of that 3G bull crap. I have a stock 87 Mustang alternator on my car powering the fuel pumps, fan, line lock and all the other power accessories. Absolutely no problems.

I did the same to my 88 and never had a prob. But then again I didn't have a stereo system in it either. The exhaust note is all the music I need.

When I upgraded to the 3G my black magic fan seemed to spin a lot faster. But I have a lot of electrical load on my charging system. Factory EEC, stereo, MSD, fuel pump controller, PMS, data logger, etc.
