Just wondering if anyone knows for sure it comparible sizes Like 26 X 11.5 streets, to 26 x 10 drags hook the same or not. The book describes them to be identical as far as I can tell??? Thanks in advance.

Mark, my own experience has been almost identical times, not enough to tell the difference, but some guys I have talked to at GLD say the ET Drags have a slightly softer compound. But then others have said no that is NOT true.
As I said, on my Cobra I have had both and there does not seem to be much difference. To add, I'm not that far off ny best ever 60 foot with the ET Street Radials either...

Most of the ET Streets have the same compound as the ET drags. Tire compound info can be found at http://www.mickeythompsontires.com. I guess the only draw back to an ET street would be the grooves in them reduce the effective contact patch but seeing how fast guys have gone on grooved drag radials, I don't really think this is an issue.

Thanks guys! I need to buy tires and I can only afford one or the other. I just hate being excluded from True Street type races because of slicks. I really liked the new slicks I had too. I just don't know...

Is it true that the sidewall is different between the two?

I have heard that too Tony. But... Sidewall on the M/T drag radials is stiffer than either one and those hook about the same anyway...

I would really consider the McCreary now called American Racers. $95 per tire and they hook very good on my car. They hook in 1st gear!

Ive only had my stang 4 months or so.I had 26x10 draget streets now have et street radials in 11.50's. Same height 11.50's a little wider, not much.Like them better then Drag et's,Ran 2 tenths faster on the radials then on Drag et's.But my car is not super fast,Launched at 4,000 rpm's with both tires no problems.I think the radials launched harder due to less sidewall give.Darrell knows my car I bought first set of tires from him, then decide to try radials due amount of street driving I do with it.Radials better on street conditons, still launch at 4 on street and hook after about a foot of spin.
My vote is Radials.

ET Streets and the ET Drags share the same construction. Sidewalls on both tires are of the 2 ply wrinklewall design unless other wise noted as a stiff sidewall tire.

I used to run the McCreary's. We used to have a dirt track car and they were great for that, but I ran them on a low 14 second trck and they spun hard! I dont' think I would try them again. Just my experience.
I think I will buy the Streets. Thanks Guys!

Radials or nonradials Mark?
I need to get some street tires again.

I would buy the non- radials, but now I am undecided again!!! They are identical tires EXCEPT they are different compounds. I might be better off with the harder compound but I am afraid to find out! I would really like to be able to buy E.T. Streets for my 5 stars and Drags for my Draglites.... I talked to M/T and I am more confused!!!

Dirt track tires suck unless you are running them in a low horsepower application......and yes this is speaking from experience.
Mark, what are the tires that you are looking at? Sizes? I don't think a harder compound will be good, but maybe a stiff sidewall because you have a manual transmission.

I am just looking at 26x 11.5 x 15 et. streets. They are all M3 compound which is a little harder than L8 for the E.T. Drags. that I ran last year. BUT 28 x10.5W's are M3 also???

Why would a stiffer sidewall tire(like a drag radial) be better on a manual trans car?
Why would a stiffer sidewall tire(like a drag radial) be better on a manual trans car?
the manual trans will shock the tires harder.

I think you will be fine with ET Streets but I really think you need to step to a 28" tire. You are throwing around some horsepower now and with a manual trans to boot. Suspension upgrades would help you alot too if you still have the autocross set up.

The only tires I can speak for are the G60-15's They don't have a 16" tire but 15" G60-15 hooks hard. So hard that they did a test between a bfg drag radial and et street and these beat the bfg and were right there with the et street.
You might have to ask them if they can give you a # to a place out by you. There is a place in IA that we got them for a killer deal.
