Is there anywhere locally that I can get a speedo gear for a T5 with 3.55 gears on my 90 GT? Otherwise I guess I'll have to order it from a catalog.

According to the LRS catalog, '90 and newer use a 23 tooth white gear where the '89 and older use the 20 tooth white gear. Is this correct?

I had a 94 GT with 3.55's and a 23 tooth was the right one. Not sure about the pre 89's

Ooops I was thinking it was 94-95 only that needed the white gear. I used the white 23 tooth on mine when I had the t-5 yet. When I pulled it for the tremec I found the gear shredded into pieces. I didn't pull the trans apart to see why it died on me but I sure don't think having 23 plastic shavings floating around helped. I have heard of this being quite common with the 23 tooth gear. You can try it, about $15 from Steeda, but after my experience I highly suggest changing both gears in the interest of longevity. My speedo was still off with my 3.73's, but might be spot on with 3.55's.

You should be able to get them at ford. Otherwise Street stuff in Addison has them

I think I'll try calling the Ford dealer once.

Any ford dealer should have them.

yep, just give them a part number to save headaches
it depends which drive gear you have in that t5 if you need the white or black driven gear

I need the white one. 23 tooth I believe. Does anyone have a part number that I can give to the dealer. All that I have is the 5.0resto part number.
