I bought my 88 Mustang yesterday, love the car. But all of a sudden the signals dont work anymore, either side. Think it may have popped a fuse? The car doesn't have any front corners on it at this time so is it possible the connectors grounded out? Possibly a bad switch on the steering column?

Start with the most obvious. Fuses and loose wires. No corners is a good starting point.

Do the 4 ways work? If so Id try a flasher I believe they use a different one for the directionals.

didnt try the 4-ways. The wipers still work so I don't believe its the switch on the steering column. I do however, believe it may be one of those metal fuses in the fuse panel (the non-clear ones). What is the best way to check them? Or should I just replace them?

well the 4 ways work, so I think its that switch. All the fuses are there and none are popped.

Get a flasher unit, they are usually silver, with 2 spade terminals and they are round. If you can hear the 4 way flasher clicking follow it and the other is probably right next to it, try replacing it:)

Just go to your local parts store(NAPA) and tell them you need a flasher for that car, then go find it and see if you have directionals;)
