How hard are these to install and wire up? And also how much can I expect to pay? And any recommendations on where to buy?

They're not entirely too difficult. If you can install a stereo/amp, this should be manageable. Basically, you remove the a-pillar and drill a hole to run your wires through. Mount the pod, wire everything up and go <---(this part is a bit easier said than done). Check out www.summitracing.com They are probably your best bet for both price and selection. The AutoMeter stuff is pretty reputable. Good luck!

P.S. For safety sake, might want to look into the isolator for your fuel pressure gauge. It sends a "signal" to the gauge versus sending actual fuel into the cockpit.

I am running a guage cage with vents that replaces the 2 center vents, I figured it would be easier to run the wires, no drilling and easier to run a manual boost guage. I got all my stuff from summit!

The isolator is like $100 and you HAVE TO HAVE IT! The gauges are about $40 each and the A pillar mount is about $30 So if you have a boost gauge, FP gauge only it will be about $220 with tax.

The pillar pods are a very easy install. Basic hand tools and a little knowledge on eletrical wiring. FYI, You will need a special fitting for the schrader valve on the fuel rail(if your using factory rails). Last I saw the gauge kits do not come with them. Summit carries them too.

As far as the fuel pressure gauge goes you could also use the electrical fuel pressure gauge. It is very easy to hook up and has less connections to leak fuel from. Plus if you ever go crazy and start data logging stuff you already have a electrical referance.

So, is it necessary ( or recommended) to get these right away, or would I be alright just waiting on these for awhile. I am going to be running a Vortech V-1 SC with a UPR powerpipe most likely.

I would say the gaugea are pretty important. You want to make sure your fuel pressure rises with boost. If it falls you have problems.

I don't think Autometer even sells the isolator any more for EFI fuel pressure as I heard they had problems with it. I know they still make it for carbed cars where the pressure is much less though. I would use an electrical one if you are going to mount it inside. I'm selling an autometer ultralite boost gauge, boost memory, ultralite af gauge, and probably the dual mount pilar too and am close to Grafton if you are interested. :D I'm using all Cyberdyne digital gauges now.

As I have said before, those liquid isolators suck and aren't accurate unless you get every last bubble of air out of the line. Electrical is the way to go for cockpit mount fuel guage.
