What should I do? I want to do both eventually, but what do you think is more important? New heads (Trickflow Twisted Wedge Heads) or new wheels (Chrome Cobra R's)

yeah im leaning that way anyway, and I dont think there would be a huge difference in price between the two mods, maybe a few hundred. Going fast is definitely important

I did wheels first, then went faster, now I am back to going slow again. What a viscious cycle:)

You have an X Cam? Are you sure the tw heads will allow enough piston to valve clearance?
I vote for go fast 1st also

Not sure. Im hoping it does. My current E7 heads are also shaved a little bit, and I dont plan on doing that to the next set of heads, so I'll see.

By chrome cobra r's I mean 98 Cobra replica wheels in chrome. If you also knew what I meant, whats wrong with those wheels?

I say do the heads. With your cam and intake combo, it's definitely what's holding the car back right now. Wheels can wait.

from what I understand, you are slightly familiar with the car. If you were to guess, do you think with the wedge heads, my piston-to-valve clearance will be ok?

Actually, I've only seen the car once when Tyler owned it and once when I stopped by Jorge. I know what's in the car but that's about the extent of it.
In answer to your question, you should be safe, but I would check PTV clearance none the less. Can never be too safe. Talk to Badass... he now preaches this from the high heavens!

I know if I were to slap a set of heads on the motor in my car now, I'd really have to be careful and check everything. That motor doesn't have valve reliefs in the pistons like the later model roller 5.0's do.

it was from a parts failure.
What failed? Timing chain?
Guess I just assumed that with all the crap you were taking for bent valves that it was a PTV issue. My apologies.

They dont make 98 Cobra Replicas, only Ford Racing 5 lug wheels, and they dont make chrome 98 Cobra wheels either. I think you do want replica cobra R's. The 98 Cobra wheels are a 5 spoke that has a slight outward curve to them and the Cobra R's are a straighter spoke. :thumbs_up

YES!!! i wanted the 99 cobras but they don't make that in 4 lug, and I dont want to do the conversion.

Give me money first,
buy your heads second, since there is no point in having cool wheels on a roller,
and Im caught between the 99 cobra and the 03 cobra wheels, both look nice.
