I am looking to convert to 5 lug in order to put Bullitt rims on a Fox body. Obviously this has been done before but I want to do it right the first time. I planned on keeping the drum brakes in the rear. What conversion approach should I go with (axles, front brakes etc) that would work...
Also, if you have an photos of Fox bodies with these rims on them could you post them... I really appreciate any input and knowledge....

SN front conversion is the way to go for 5 lug wheels. Plus the added bonus of better brakes. You will need the spindles and hubs from a 94-95(same front track width) V6 or GT. A ball joint spacer(.330 thick) There is a guy on the corral that sels these. Thats where I got mine. The calipers, and mounting brackets from the same car you got the spindles from. You will need the banjo bolts for the new calipers. used SN hoses on the front and I needed some adapter because the threads are different on the passenger side. Any parts store will have it. Of course you will need pads and rotors also. The brake pedal will loose alittle feel with the bigger brakes in the front even with the drum in the rear. I used a master from a 94-95 with my stock booster and its great. The V6 and GT are al the same brake parts. The rear I use ranger axels and drums. FMS sell a rear drum kit for like $200 and everything is new. Good Luck

Here's a very good resource link to check out. Has pretty much all the info you'll need to do the 5 lug swap. Good luck!

Thanks for all the information.
Also thanks for the photo Jason. Dang, that looks good !!!!
So, ball park wise... how much would it cost to complete this conversion realistically??? Of course minus the rims/tires...

Brad, how are you going to run that thing at the track with bullit rims?
j/k man, I am planning on running some nice 17's on the street as well and then if and when I ever get to the track I will throw on some slicks. Just be careful if you run the bigger cobra front brakes, you won't be able to run 15" rims anymore.

Realistically, I think you can easily get it done for less than $500. I wrote it all down a while back but I swear I'm the youngest person on Earth with Alzheimers. :thud:

Toretto... what's up man??
Naw, this setup would be on this other car that I am getting my hands on. I am keeping the red car the way it is. I am planning to create a really nice looking daily driver for summer. Ever since them wheels came out I fell in love with them and want to put a set on something.

Brad.....Keep an eye on this site here. They sell brand new take off stuff, but are out of stock at the moment. You can get GT front PBR twin piston calipers loaded with pads and brackets and 11" plated drilled/slotted rotors for around 275.00. Or just the take off calipers show up on Ebay every once and a while for 80.00, I think there is a set on there now.

I think them would work great for you beings you are staying with drums in the back. Then pick up some 94-95 spindles and then you are able to run pretty much any wheel you want. Also down the road you would be able to upgrade to the larger brake sizes if you wanted.
