I could go thru the trans for you to rule it out.

I had a similar prob and found that it was the tension on the clutch cable...took a while of messin with that till i found the right tension.
Good luck!

I would recomend getting one, they aren't too expensive, and i have seen some now that come with the firewall adjuster so theres no crawling under the car. I think its worth it, also the stock self adjusting one ive heard is very weak.

it has the aftermarket quadrant in it already....upngo50 was here yesterday looking at it and it seems to be coming from the front of the bellhousing at the blocking plate, almost like something is rubbing on the plate.

I recommend Maximum Motorsports universal cable, quadrant and firewall adjuster. My son and I installed one in about 2 hours ( I made him crawl under the dash and replace the quadrant ) The quadrant is a bit fast acting for street driving, but it's well made and easy to install. If I were to change it, I would put a half round quadrant on the street car, not the cam lobe looking thing they include in the kit.
