dim taillights?

Its been brought to my attention by a few friends and local law inforcement that while my taillights and brakelights work, they are very dim. One of my friends followed me home one day and said if it wasnt for my 3rd brakelight, it would be hard to tell when I was stopping... Any suggestions?

Check the grounds back there first. A loose or bad ground tends to cause dim lights.

ok well I just swapped out bulbs, huge difference there. The bulbs in there were those new fangled LED ones, and suprisingly, they weren't better compared to the traditional bulbs. I got regular bulbs in there and they look a whole lot better.
